of Saint Martin

The website sanmartinoinveneto.it raises from the involvement in the European project “NewPilgrimAge”, with the aim of the reinterpretation in the 21st century of the St. Martin related shared values and cultural heritage, through the use of ICT innovative solutions and the involvement of the local communities.

The project aims to valorise the testaments of the deep relationship between Saint Martin and our territory: they are several and referred to different spheres of the life of our people. Uncountable are the iconographic calls in our cities and in our churches to the Saint, and numerous are the proverbs and the dishes in his memory.

Saint Martin of Tours is one of the most familiar and recognisable Christian saints and has been venerated since the 4^th century. For his entire life he tirelessly travelled around Europe, leaving a significant imprint on our collective memory.
